Where your scan data lives
If you scan without an account (the default for first-time visitors), your scan history is stored in your browser's localStorage and never leaves your device. The ingredient analysis itself still goes to Google Gemini for the AI processing step (see "Third-Party Services" below), but no per-user record is kept on our servers. You can clear local data at any time via your browser's site-storage controls.
If you sign in to save profiles, sync history across devices, or use Pro features, your scan logs are written to our Supabase database so they can be retrieved on any signed-in device. Each row is tagged with your user ID and accessible only to you under Supabase row-level security. You can download a copy of everything we hold from Settings → Your data or request deletion at any time.
Cookies and Tracking
We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to:
- Remember your preferences
- Understand how you use our website

You can control cookies through your browser settings.
Third-Party Services
We may use third-party services including:

- Email Service Providers: For newsletter delivery (if you subscribe)
These third parties have their own privacy policies and we encourage you to review them.
Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
